Turkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. Atlas Data Center Project, at each step from project design to completion of construction process, eco and human friendly approaches are taken into consideration. Turkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. Atlas Data Center is one of the world’ s leading data center project and the first Leed v4 Building Design + Construction (BD+C): Datacenters project in Turkey which qualified to receive LEED certification at the GOLD level in Datacenters category.
Energy efficiency has been prefered in all service systems used within the scope of the project. The requirements of American energy efficiency standard (ASHRAE 90.1.2010) are complied in lighting fittings, heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting – mechanical automation design and selection. In addition, ENERGY STAR criteria have been taken into consideration in the selection of IT equipment prevenient in the white spaces. According to international standards the energy consumption of the designed building systems was evaluated based on the efficiency of the selected devices so that the possible inefficiencies were determined while still in the design phase and the optimum solutions in energy efficiency were provided.
In the project, rainwater is collected from hardscapes, except the roof and parking lot surfaces, and transmit to the water storage tank together with the condensate water of the cooling system. The stored water is used for the landscape irrigation and reservoirs of fittings. Reuse of rain and condensation waters with efficient water faucets used in the building more than 50% efficiency has been achieved both inside and outside.
In addition, environmental-friendly construction methods and material procurements are preferred in the construction and design process of the Project as well as indoor quality and user comfort have been followed in accordance with LEED v4 criteria.
Atlas Data Center, the largest digital infrastructure transformation project of İş Bank’s history, was awarded first prize in the “Infrastructure Scale-Out” field by Data Center Dynamics (DCD) in the global data center competition and by Uptime Institute, continuous operation “in the rating made by the criteria also had the highest level Tier IV certification, and also it is the first data center in Turkey.
