TEKFEN LEVENT OFFICE building is an A + Class Core & Shell office project completed in 2010 in Levent, one of the important trade centers of Istanbul. The project, green building process is administered by Altensis, is Turkey’s first LEED project in the category of commercial building and has been awarded with a LEED certificate at the Gold Level by the American Green Building Council as a result of the applications and the performances in general. During the design and construction of the project, energy, water efficiency, working health and comfort are kept in the foreground.

The most important step in the process leading to the environmentally friendly building is the design of the building. While the unique green facade design of TEKFEN LEVENT OFFICE BUILDING creates a green texture in the city center, it offers a different working environment for the building users. The design of the building and its systems in this direction offers a great advantage in terms of making maximum use of the daylight for the users and of seeing the outside easily.

The unique location of the building and the presence of important centers in terms of living area, public transportation and shopping in the Levent region where the building is located have the least amount of need for building users to use individual vehicles which is harmful to the environment. In this way, it is aimed to reduce the CO2 emissions. In addition, the building will offer private parking for low emission / hybrid / electric vehicles and parking and shower facilities for cyclists. Alternative transportation systems are supported on this site.

From the beginning to the end of the project, building an environmentally friendly building respecting people was the most important targets. There was a parking lot where the building was located. This multi-storey car park, a metal structure, was carefully demounted and recycled within the scope of TEKFEN’s waste management policy. Even the slightest screw in the building was not sent to the garbage, and care given by the of the project team to the environment was shown on the first day.

Measures to prevent environmental pollution, starting from site construction, include truck washing, filtration of rainwater, protection of manhole covers and clearing of roads, and other examples of respect for the environment.

Glass, concrete, precast concrete, steel, GRP, ceramics etc. used in the construction of the building. attention has been paid to the use of materials from local sources. CO2 emissions from transportation are limited. In addition, suitable materials have been preferred to those with recycled content, and utmost importance has been given to the careful use of materials and resources.
