Three housing blocks in the Soyak Siesta Oxygen project located in İzmir Karsiyaka were individually entitled to receive LEED Silver certification. In the project, studies were carried out by taking into consideration the sustainability criteria from the design stage to the completion of the construction process.
Saving luminaries have been used to increase water and energy efficiency, and international standards have been taken into consideration in the selection of mechanical equipment. In interior in order to improve user health and comfort, materials with low VOC (volatile organic component) are used, designed to provide maximum benefit from natural lighting and ventilation.
The project has created priority parking spaces for bicycle parks and low emission vehicles to support alternative transport options and reduce CO2 emissions from vehicle use.
The amount of waste has been reduced through the recycling and reuse of wastes generated during the construction process. In addition, Erosion and Sedimentation Plan was established and monitored to prevent pollution of water resources and dust formation during construction.
The necessary measures were taken during design and construction in order to prevent leakage of air in apartments and to reduce the inefficiencies that may be caused by heat loss-gain, and the “leakproofness test” has been successful.
