Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, located in Bodrum/Göltürkbükü, has been awarded LEED Gold certificate. The location provides convenient access to public transportation. The project aimed to reduce the emission of transport-related carbon emissions by providing enough bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging stations for hotel users and employees. During the construction process, the erosion and sedimentation plan was developed to minimize damage to the environment ; Measures have been taken to prevent water and construction pollution  by dust formation. The wastes generated during construction were separated and evaluated in areas such as recycling and reuse. Thus, the amount of construction waste is reduced. Increasing the amount of green space, local and adapted plants were involved in landscape design. The choice of low water consumption faucets, purification of sea water and use in all vitrified elements, drinking water, landscape and forest water, and treatment of waste water in landscaping and forest water, contributed considerably to water efficiency. As far as possible in the landscape design, plants with low water consumption are preferred for the climate of the region. With energy efficient mechanical-electrical systems, facade cladding and appropriate glass selection, the building has achieved 34% energy saving compared to international standards. It is aimed to reduce the effect of heat island by choosing light colored veneers and green roofs in the building area and on the roofs. To increase user comfort and health, the amount of fresh air supplied to the premises is kept above international standards; Interior paint, adhesive, putty etc. chemicals are selected from products with low VOC content.
