Istanbul Cevahir Shopping Mall and Entertainment Center has achieved a Gold level certification in the LEED Operation & Maintenance: Existing Buildings category. Istanbul Cevahir Shopping and Entertainment Center has been welcoming visitors from many countries since it was opened in 2005; It offers services in the fields of textile, electronics, gastronomy, and art.

A road map was created to increase energy efficiency as a result of detailed energy efficiency studies of the main energy-consuming systems of the building according to ASHRAE standards and determination of energy saving focuses.

With the improvements made in the ventilation and existing automation systems, both energy efficiency and air quality have been improved.

Over 20% efficiency was achieved by installing low-flow aerators to reduce water consumption.

The amount of contaminated air space at building entrances and exits has been reduced by designating smoking zones and providing users with directional signage.

The project emphasizes trash separation and sending recyclable garbage for reuse and/or recycling. For waste separation, a time period was established during the operating process, and the project’s separation performance was assessed.
