Halkbank Datacenter building is the first LEED green building certified Datacenter in Turkey. Built on an area of 7900 m2, has been awarded the ‘Gold’ certificate by the USGBC for both design and construction phases.

Thanks to selected energy efficient mechanical systems and building shells;  Halkbank Datacenter building was found 36% more efficient compared to a ASHRAE-defined base datacenter building. In terms of this efficiency, energy efficient mechanical systems play a big role. With a choice of efficient water faucets, a yield of 48% was obtained in the domestic water, while 100% efficiency was achieved for the water used outside  by rainwater collected and stored in the part of the roof. This helped to save great amount of water used in the garden irrigation.

Additionally; All of the materials selected and used during construction are considered to be environmentally friendly materials included in the recycling program. During the construction, erosion and sedimentation control were carried out in order to reduce the pollution that spread to the environment. The amount of fresh air provided to the building has been calculated and applied according to international standards. At the same time, all chemical ingredients used in the interior consist of materials approved and applied according to VOC ratios. Thus, a high contribution has been made to the provision of indoor living quality.
