Having the first V4 LEED certificate in Turkey, the Google Istanbul Project is based on environmentally sustainable principles and is designed to provide a healthier and more optimal work environment for its employees. By the help of the consultancy services of  Altensis the office has managed to achieve the Silver (Silver) certification of the Commercial Interior category. Google Istanbul office is located on Büyükdere Caddesi, which is considered as the commercial heart of Istanbul. The project’s architectural, mechanical and electrical system designs, material and equipment selections were made according to sustainability criteria. In the project, all the interior acoustical comfort conditions were considered and project phase and material selection were realized accordingly. Efficient lighting fixtures and mechanical systems are used in order  to save energy. In addition more than 75% of the electrical equipment used in the office is compatible with ENERGY STAR which is an international program aims to increase energy saving . The project has criteria such as water efficiency, measurability of mechanical-electrical systems and alternative public transportation facilities among the most important features of green offices under LEED.
