Çelikel Aluminum casting factory and management building succeeded to be the second aluminum factory in the world which is awarded LEED green building certificate. The building, which has a closed area of 23,000 m2, was built on a 20,000 m2 land in Taysad organized industrial zone.

The building has been awarded a Silver certificate by the USGBC for its design, due to the considerations in the construction phase. By designing the mechanical system that provides the recovery of the heat energy from the production, it has been able to save as much as 43% compared to the Ashrae base building. While the selected water batteries save 25% water, the total water saving has been reached to 100% thanks to the recycling of the waste water from the cooling towers included in the mechanical system to be used in toilets and urinals. In the parking areas around the bbuilding, a lawn with permeable surface has been proven to reduce the load of the rainwater grid. Again in the parking lots, special parking spaces are designed for low emission vehicles and common vehicles.

In order to reduce the heat island effect that may occur in the environment, the entire building is covered with a high white gravel that reflects the sun rays. In addition, other applications such as the selection of materials used in building construction and the control of wastes generated during construction are among the elements of the green buildings that are being considered for certification.
