Borusan EnBW Bandırma RES Administration Building LEED for Existing Buildings: has been awarded with gold level certification in Operation & Maintenance category.

A significant portion of the work being done and under way for the criteria specified in the certification system can be summarized under the following headings;

  • The energy efficiency of the energy-consuming main systems of the building will be detailed according to the ASHRAE standards,
  • Considering the budgetary boundaries according to the roadmap of the improved energy efficiency improvement, it is possible to follow up with the relatively short period of repayment economically and make suitable investments and monitoring the results of energy consumption,
  • 100% of the electricity is supplied from renewable energy source Wind Energy Power Plants,
  • Establishing a system that creates opportunities for continuous improvement on the basis of continuous monitoring of water consumption in accordance with usage area within the weekly periods and monitoring of trends,
  • The creation of green areas with local crops or with plants that need less water resources adapted to local climate conditions,
  • Reducing transportation greenhouse gas emissions due to the encouragement and provision of facilities to the public employees (service and pool vehicles)
  • Replacement of luminaires used in exterior lighting with luminaires that will not cause light pollution,
  • The use of cooling fluids which are not harmful to the ozone layer and contribute to the global warming at least,
  • The preference of energy efficient products with low energy consumption values in electronic products and adapting them to general purchasing policy,
  • Selection of cleaning materials and personal cleaning materials used in the building from green certified eco-friendly products,
  • The preference for low mercury fluorescent lamps and adapting to general procurement policy
