The ARC Water Treatment Project, which has received a GOLD certificate in the LEED v4 BD+C New Construction category, is located in the Zeytinli, Adana. The project consists of an administrative section and a manufacturing area for water treatment systems.
The project is situated on an established infrastructure location. Walking distance transportation options are available. To enhance these opportunities, shuttle services are provided to building employees to reduce individual vehicle usage. Electric vehicle charging stations has been installed to reduce carbon emissions.
The project includes plant areas. In hardscapes, rainwater management is achieved through the use of grass pavers and rainwater collection from the roof. The collected water is used in various systems, thereby reducing mains water consumption. By using efficient water fixtures, indoor water consumption is reduced by over 50%.
With the rooftop PV system and efficient equipment selections, more than 75% energy efficiency has been achieved. Commissioning processes have been carried out to ensure systems can operate according to their scenarios.
Emphasis has been placed on local materials with recycled content. An operational management plan has been created for recyclable waste management, and waste collection areas have been designated.
There are mechanical ventilated areas and lighting systems that can provide different scenarios based on user needs have been implemented. Additionally, materials with low volatile organic compounds were selected to improve indoor environment quality.
During construction, waste management was ensured, and recyclable wastes were directed to appropriate waste sites. Measures were taken during site applications to prevent degradation of indoor environment quality.
